Systems Thinking & Human Performance
Round-The-Clock Systems takes a systems approach to enhancing human performance and organizational effectiveness. We start from the premise that every round-the-clock workplace is a system made up of components or elements that have to work together for the overall objective of the whole. We help our clients to understand the interconnectivity among five key elements in their Time-and-People Performance System™: the work force, work environment (including both their organizational culture and physical plant), work design, work rewards and work schedule.
We believe the best way to generate lasting change is to continuously assess the whole work system, and to identify the real root causes of human performance challenges in time-driven operations. Then, organizations can leverage change at multiple, intersecting points in their work system to optimize performance effectiveness.
We work with our clients in two key ways.
1) Through knowledge products:
Our cornerstone product lines, Managing Round-The-Clock Organizations®, Strategic Schedule Design™ and Shiftwork: How to Cope®, are the most widely used and effective training tools for multi-shift operations. They are available as off-the-shelf solutions, in a package that primes your teams for change, or as on-site training services.
2) Through team-based, capacity-building consultations:
Through our assessment and change consultations, we transfer to your workplace the knowledge, skills and expertise gained from over 39 years of international research and 25 years of field-based practice. We generate lasting change in human performance by bringing all of your key personnel—including management, staff and line employees—into the process. We want you to achieve sustained round-the-clock readiness, not just short-term gains.
Now is the time to start building your organizational capacity for sustained round-the-clock readiness, ensuring that your entire enterprise, work sites and people can achieve optimal performance.
